The Father Hannas Council is part of the community which belongs to St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Catholic Church in Edmonton.
Our Council was chartered on December 2, 1990 and was named after Father Methodius Hannas, OSBM, Parish Priest of St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Catholic Church from 1955 to 1967.
During the time that Father Hannas was the parish priest of St. Basil's, the present Church, Monastery and Cultural Centre were built. Father Hannas Council works closely with St. Basil's Parish and other Ukrainian Catholic Parishes and Ukrainian Community organizations in Edmonton and in Alberta, providing support and funding for various projects. Council members are active participants in the parish.
